AOTW:

  • Write your name on the UpFront magazine. I do not have extras and you will need it again next weekend.
  • Read the article on immigration this weekend. Write your response for class on Tuesday.

Thesis Statements:
Next week, we are going to work on your NHD thesis statements on Tuesday.

  • Please bring in your thesis statement and your general background information on Tuesday.
  • If you would like the class to workshop your thesis statement and general background information, send it to Ms. McCartney ahead of time (mccartneychs@gmail.com). I will make copies of your work so that we can use it as an example in class.

Writers Notebook:
Your writer's notebook will be collected Tuesday

What should I have in my Writer's Notebook?

  • Writing Prompts 1.1-1.8
  • AOTW 1-4 Responses
  • Please label and date your entries.
How will my writer's notebook be graded?
  • You will get a completion grade for including all the assignments and the content.
  • Each AOTW response should be at least ten sentences and reflect upon the article
  • Each Writing Prompt should reflect effort. You typically have ten minutes to write in class, so each entry should be at least 8-10 sentences.
  • You will not be graded on your spelling or grammar. This is your chance to share your immediate thoughts and reflections without worrying too much about your writing conventions.
