"The Last Spin" Discussion Questions
- Both men are understandably nervous. Find some examples that show this taken from the text.
- How does their attitude towards their clubs change over the story?
- What is the climax of the story? Explain. At what point do Tigo and Danny start to get along? Why do you think this is important?
- What stereotypes do Danny and Tigo portray? Do you think these stereotypes represent who they really are?
Homework:
An interior monologue is the imagined thoughts of a character at a specific point in time. Put yourself in Tigo’s shoes. Tap into his feelings. On a separate sheet, write from Tigo’s point of view what he is feeling and thinking at the very end of this story. You may do this as prose or poetry. Be prepared to share this response with the class.
