Warm-Up: Choose five of the vocabulary words and explain how they relate to your life, your interests or your personality.

Assignments:
Define and review the following terms: first person point of view, third person limited point of view, third person omniscient point of view, objective point of view, irony, foreshadowing, characterization, theme, mood, tone, symbolism
We applied these terms to the short story, "The Story of an Hour" by Kate Chopin.

Homework:
Choose one of the literary devices from today or Monday to apply them to "The Story of an Hour." Explain how the literary term is used in the story and analyze its effectiveness. Does it add meaning to the story? How does the author use it to make her point?

Use quotes from the story illustrate your argument. Your response should be at least a page.
